Diploma Nautical Science(1 Year course) :

                                                              leads to obtain B.Sc (Nautical Science) - Approved by DG Shipping

 

1 year course consists of 2 semesters and exams are conducted by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. After passing out the exams conducted by MS University, the cadets will be awarded DIPLOMA NAUTICAL SCIENCE by MS University. The cadets will be joining on board vessel as a Trainee cadet. They will have to obtain 18 months sea service (Two yearstime will take to complete the 18 months sea experience). With this 18  months sea experience, they will undergo 4 months Second mate’s foundation course & they are eligible to appear for 2nd mate exams. After passing  second mate exams, they will be promoted as Second officer.

                                                        

This Diploma Nautical Science course also leads to get B.Sc degree in  Nautical Science by MS University. During the first 18 months sea service, MS University is  conducting the Distance learning Programme(DLP) by giving the necessary study material. With further sea service & exams they will be promoted to  Chief Officer and then becoming Captain of the ship.

Admission for Diploma Nautical Science (DNS) - 1 Year Course

ELIGIBILITY

Pass in HSC / (10+2) From a Recognized Broad With 55% Average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. (or)  

B.sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Electronics with  Physics as individual subject in one of the years with an average   of not  less than 55% marks in the Final Year. (or)

BE (or) B.Tech Degree from a college Recognized by AICTE

Compulsory: 50% in English Subject either in 10th or 12th Standard (or) Any Degree, Diploma level.

AGE LIMIT

   1. Up to 25 years For H.Sc / 10 +2 candidates

   2. Up to 25 years For B.Sc., candidates

   3. Up to 25 years For BE / B.Tech candidates

To Reserve your seat, Kindly send Rs.25,000/= along with the Downloaded Application Form The DD should be in favor of ‘International Maritime Academy’,  Payable at  Chennai.

The Course Commences at two time in a year (March/April & Aug/Sep) Contact the Office for the reservation of your seat to the Respective session.

The Students are advised to verify themselves for their eye vision which is as per the eligibility criteria. Verification of Mark sheets & Medical Test will be conducted by the Academy.
